We’ve been working outside this month at the cottage. Freshening up the walls with repairing mortar and doing some white washing preparation for Springtime.
We’ve also been planting! New, hardy evergreen shrubs and plants, such as laurels, bay trees and hedging . Things we know will stand half a chance of surviving Tiree’s salty, windy climate. It’ll take a couple of years for these young trees to thicken out and grow a bit taller, but they should eventually provide a nice, living wall, screen for the outdoor patio area (and hopefully reduce the amount of painting we have to do to walls each year!)
