Those guests who have been to Struthan Cottage will know there’s a trench running along the elevation of the cottage at the back garden. In all honesty, it’s been there since we bought the property in 2007. By our own admission, it’s looked a little untidy….until now!
During the end of July, in the midst of 27 – 29 degree temperatures, we bucketed almost 2 tonnes of stone from the front car park , round to the back of the cottage, infilling the gully trench completely. This task saw several benefits, not just making it look nicer. It’s provided a walkway for guests, a hardstanding for us accessing the roof and walls easier, made it safer for children and pets and of course protected the cottage further.
Every visit we make to the cottage, we always try to improve something, to make our future maintenance visits easier and for the benefit of our guests. This was some hard work, but we’re sure you’ll agree it’s much better!
