Ok. Don’t try this at home! We’ve taken advantage of the recent nice weather in Western Scotland to get the cottage whitewashed. Brand new coat of masonry white paint to the entire outside of the building, including high up on the gables. The chimneys were the difficult part to reach, and as you can see from the picture, a job necessary only on a day with no wind (unusual on Tiree!) Still, job done, we could come down from the ladder with sore arms from the paintstrokes and admire our handywork! At least now we have a gleaming white stone cottage. Back to Tiree on Friday again to get on with the work inside. More pictures soon.
