Weeding, clearing winter debris in the garden, whitewashing the garden wall, both sides and planting loads of bulbs and new, hardy trees. (Yes, we’re aware Tiree doesn’t have many trees, so this is our little experiment!) We’ve chosen hardy species which can allegedly cope with salty climates, planted them in a sunny, sheltered spot. Ensured there’s clips to the walls to prevent them bending or breaking in the wind.
Over the years we’ve learned slowly and often the hard way, what thrives in Tiree and what doesn’t! Some before and after photos.
