From the Herald this week : “Police are investigating the death of a young peregrine falcon believed to have been shot dead on a Scottish island. It was the sole offspring of the Isle of Tiree’s only pair of peregrine falcons. The bird of prey was found dead on Saturday. Police officer Stephen Tanner said: “We are awaiting the results of a post- mortem.”
