A memorial service was held on Tiree for a mother and her four-year-old daughter who were killed in a road accident.
Television producer Penelope “Polly’” Renton, 40, and her daughter Rosita “Sita” died in Kenya when their car was hit by a lorry. Ms Renton’s 12-month-old son Tristan and her nanny escaped uninjured. The memorial service was held in Kirkapol Church of Scotland on Tiree where the Renton family have a house.
The minister, the Rev Robert Higham, said that Ms Renton had enjoyed her holidays on Tiree, first arriving on the island in her mother’s womb, and that Sita had visited twice. Ms Renton’s parents, Lord and Lady Renton, heard Mr Higham tell the congregation that their dauighter had been a “treasured part of a strong and loving family”. Her husband, Toby Fenwick-Wilson, a safari guide, was also in the congregation along with Tristan at the service on Sunday night.
Before the accident three months ago, Ms Renton had been living and working in Kenya for 10 years. You can read more at Tiree Online by clicking here
