At the last meeting of Tiree community Business, a review of costs involved in the production of An Tirisdeach (the Tiree magazine and a great source of stories for this website!) was held. Unfortunately due to the rising costs of paper, hire charges for the copier, ink etc, it was felt that a price increase would be in order. The last price increase took the paper from 50p to 80p, so an increase to £1.00 is hopefully not too expensive.
An Tirisdeach has been delivering the islands news since the 1980s and its very much a community paper with many people on the mainland also subscribing. On a personal comment, i’ve noticed the quality has only improved over the years and it’s well written and edited, with good quality photos and print. Keep up the good work. £1 an issue is a snip!
