He is one of Scotland’s leading sportsmen but Scotty McDowell just likes to go where the wind takes him. The windsurfer has been catching waves and riding the gusts for 25 years, and sails into the Hebrides next month for the Tiree Wave Classic. A 42-year-old builder by day,he lives on the beach in Troon,Ayrshire, with partner Michelle and sons Jack, 11, and Oliver, five, and spends as much time on the sea as he can spare.
