If you’re visiting Tiree this year , dont forget to visit the ancient site at Vaul. Dun Mor Broch is located at the North East end of the island and is home to an ancient “home” built of stone and over 2,000 years old.
It’s located on the top of a small hillock facing the sea and may have been used as some sort of defensive position for the community. You can see ancient steps built into stone walls although the turf roofs have long gone. It was excavated last Century and archaeologists found many carved tools and bones. Follow signs for Vaul and Caoles and keep the left of Vaul beach.
