In August of last year, the Tiree Trust received funding from the Big Lottery, which allowed the Board to appoint 3 members of staff. Since the new staff have been put in place, there has been discussion with a number of Tiree Community groups regarding future proposals for Tiree, including:
- Tiree Community Wind Turbine – Erection of a community Turbine to allow Tiree to be self sustainable using income from the turbine.
- Youth – Schools have applied to Argyll & Bute Council for financial assistance
- Access – Big discussion point which considered various access points to all the beaches on the Island.
- Environmental Project – Upgrading Public Toilets in Scarinish and perhaps new ones at Crossapol and Loch Bassapol.
- Harbour Development – Upgrading many of the small harbours and inlets around the island.
