Tuesday is the “Shed Day”

Tuesday and the weather has turned for the worse. Clouded over with occassional rain, so not a great day to do the main peice of work i came up to do. Demolish part of the shed outside, rebuild, wallhead repairs, new joists, put new roof on, waterproof, flashings, remove old window and replace with bought new one, install new door and frame and put up some shelves inside.  This was a LOT of work for one day, so i made sure i got some local help. Thanks to Marty, Mark and Sam for a full day of work! Later, i painted the door to match the windows and main cottage door. Gone is the previous owners, garish green colour. The first picture will show you what it used to look like and the brown door pictures , what it looks like now. Fascia board, gutters and ironmongery all done too. Whilst the boys were working away on the roof, i unlocked the byre and started to bag the masses of rubble and builders rubbish in there, taking some of it round to the refuse tip. It was a full day, damp at times, but well worth it. (Every year we’ll upgrade something else in or around the cottage, the theory being it will keep getting better. It was the turn of the outside shed this year which i’m sure you’ll agree looks great now. Note, the shed is for co owners use only…that’s me and my family only. Its permanently locked and off limits to holidaymakers as we need a little store here for tools etc). Literally collapsed into bed and couldnt keep my eyes open in front of the TV. When will i get a break here?
