Over the last few months there has been some reliability issues with Tiree Community Broadband at a couple of locations (not Struthan Cottage!). As users require ever increasing bandwidth for sites like Youtube or iplayer the requirements and expectations need to be looked at. Much of the island equipment is over 5 years old so there has been plans drawn for an upgrade to the system, possibily offering up to 2MB service enjoyed on the mainland. Funding is being sought for the £150,000 required for this upgrade. Meantime, service should not be disrupted other than when the wild winter storms affect the service. Until the upgrade, thanks for your patience and support and rest assured Struthan Cottage Broadband is still fully functional!
