Tiree Array : How it may look

A display of images showing how the proposed Argyll Array may look from Tiree has failed to allay fears about the development.

Scottish Power Renewables’ (SPR) public meetings on the isles of Coll and Tiree this week aimed to answer questions from both communities about how the grouping of up to 300 wind turbines might affect each isle – and presented for the first time their own projections of how the array may look from its closest neighbour, Tiree.

Rather than reassure islanders on Tiree that any visual impact would be minimal, the images seem to have provoked the opposite reaction, with local campaign group No Tiree Array (NTA), reporting a boost in membership enquiries.
