Save Tiree’s Sandaig Museum

The Thatched House Museum at Sandaig was put on the market last year (rather expensively) by the owners “The Hebridean Trust”. Although it’s been a struggle in recent years to man the museum with volunteers and keep the thatch water tight, the museum was always popular. A feasibility study to investigate the possibilities of keeping the museum open is currently underway. You are invitied to a meeting in An Talla on 5th July at 7.30pm to voice your ideas and suggestions.

  1. I am unable to attend the meeting on 5 July, but support the continued running of this important museum. Also the asking of the question to the Scottish Government – if you advertise this and other museums/centres on Tiree and say they are important to tourism, why not fund and support them properly with staff? I expect you have already 🙁
