Summer is traditionally a time of year when there are more cyclists and cars on Tiree’s roads. You may not know, but most of Tiree’s roads are single trackways, thankfully with many, many and very frequent passing places.
With tourists arriving with their bikes, the island’s roads are more noticeably busier (although if you’ve not been to Tiree before, you’ll still think they’re deserted!) Islanders and tourists driving cars have a responsibility to look out for bikes and leave plenty of space for them to get past, without knocking them into ditches!Be safe on Tiree’s roads this Summer and dont forget to smile and give each other that traditional friendly Tiree hand wave!
