It has long been a tradition on Tiree to give a cheery wave to on-coming vehicles , bikes and pedestrians, regardless if you know them or not! Sadly this doesn’t seem to be happening as often or as spontaneously of late. It’s a result of new people coming to Tiree and not knowing this custom.
Let’s not wave goodbye to this tradition. It’s what makes Tiree friendly and cheery. Please remember to wave to people, cars and bikes if you’re driving past them. It’s a small request for a small island.
