How it may look!
Scottish Power Renewables (SPR) has been awarded the rights to investigate the potential for an offshore windfarm west of Argull and the island of Tiree. The site will be examined over the next year and it’s believed they could generate enough power for 270,000 to 1,000,000 homes!
A question and answer session was recently held in An Talla, Tiree’s community hall. SPR were invited and will return to the island on 21st March 2009 for a further session. Tiree may stand to benefit from some of the revenue generated from the development. Tiree Trust are monitoring this very closely and have as yet no opinion as to whether this is welcomed or not.
