So, what else have i been up to this maintenance weekend? I took up 3 small fir trees and planted them around the cottage, 2 in the garden and one slightly outside the wall. Not so confident that trees grow much on Tiree, but these type of fir trees are very hardy and stand up to the elements. Being evergreen, the trees provide some welcome landscaping making the garden a little less barren in the winter when there are no flowers. Over the next couple of years, i’ll take up a couple of trees each time i come to Tiree and plant them also. Tiree is SO flat, but it’s nice to be able to see a few trees looking out the window too.
