We’ve installed a new front door at the cottage. The wooden existing one is 15 years old and made of timber, exposed to all those winters, it probably won’t see another year. However, we like the style of door SO much, we ordered the same one!
This time though, it’s been pre-treated properly, quality undercoat and 2 coats of external weather shield paint, in same colour to match windows. A nice dry couple of days helped. Guests probably won’t notice the difference, changing over like for like, but replacing it now ensures no issues with the door swelling in winter and should hopefully be good for another 15 years.
