Calmac's New Cheaper Ferry rates
Calmac intoduced a new fare structure on 19th October 2008. From that date, these new fares were approximately HALF of what they were previously!
They are described as a Road Equivalent Tariff (RET) and are a pilot scheme for the next 3 years. They aim to relate ferry fares to the same cost as though it would be by travelling by road.
These new fares make travelling to Tiree more affordable and the hope is that they will act as a boost to visitor numbers and the island economy generally. The new fares are detailed in this post.
